Landscape Foremen/ Lead Hand
As part of our construction division, our Landscape Foremen/ Lead Hand will directly lead a highly skilled landscape construction crew.
We currently employ numerous landscape crews and foremen, but are looking to further bolster our existing staff by adding experienced staff members.
Job Role:
To effectively lead and/or work within a landscape construction crew on site.

Requirements:

Ability to speak, read and write English
-
Ability to understand building plans / prints
-
Access to reliable transportation to our shop located in St.Andrews, MB, or direct to your job site
-
Ability to stand and work with your hands for long periods of time
-
2+ years of landscape construction experience in a foremen position (Foremen position only)
-
Ability to listen and follow instruction from a direct supervisor
-
Comfortable with working in dusty, hot, wet and/or cold temperatures
-
Comfortable working weekends if schedule permits
-
Valid Class 5 License
Daily Tasks Include:
-
Measure elevations and setbacks for landscape construction
-
Layout project work site based on supplied prints
-
Direct and operate skid steers and excavators on site
-
Handle logistics as it relates to material deliveries and sub-contractors
-
Operate skid steers, mini-excavators, mud buggy’s on site
-
Direct and teach inexperienced staff members
-
Assist and supervise the construction of all landscape elements such as paving stone, retaining walls, outdoor kitchens, shrub and tree plantings, rock and mulch install, outdoor lighting, etc.

Communicate as needed with clients and address any concerns (Foremen position only)

Track and monitor KPIs within a job to ensure job site profitability (Foremen position only)
Required Skills:

Communications skills required to work with project managers, clients, and fellow staff members

Ability to work as part of a team for extended periods of time

Communicate by receiving and providing direction to fellow team members

Help lead younger or inexperienced employees in completion of routine tasks on site, or take direction from experienced staff on site

Ability to use hand tools, battery tools, and air tools as they relate to the trade

Read and understand construction drawings and plumbing diagrams
-
Equipment operation skills as required to complete your daily tasks

Use cloud based software to track hours on site appropriately, and document any deficiencies

Option for flexible hours during the winter off season completing interior renovations, carpentry scopes of work, snow removal or extended vacation 

Expected Hours :

Monday to Friday

Weather and schedule may require some Saturday work

Compensation:

Starting wage of $28-$40/hr based on experience and skill set
